Covertext There have been published inummerable textbooks concerning the martial arts in many countries of the world, but those pertaining to Hapkido, a Korean art of self-defense, are few. It may fairly be said that none of them deseribes the true meaning and significance of Hapkido. In an effort to provide correct understanding and characteristic yet profound techniques and splendid feats of Hapkido to those who are interested in martial arts throughout the world, the author published, for the first time in Korea, a textbook of ,,Hapkido" in 1967. This textbook in Korean language (7½" x 10½") contains 1,200 photos in 213 pages and is still used as the best textbooks of martial arts ever published in Korea. The author has published recently an additional textbook of Hapkido in English version with improved contents for which he began to write and collect all the necessary data and photographs from 1970. This textbook 8½"x12" in size, contains 1,700 photos in 300 pages which will be of great help to the foreign beginners in learning Hapkido. It may also be used as a complete guideline of ,,Hapkido" for the instructors of martial arts in all countries of the world.
