Assessment by hapkido-info.net

This book is based on the HWARANGDO (one of the numerous Hapkido derivatives, though the name was completely changed in this case) and deals with the handling of one or two short sticks and techniques with canes. Many images for each technique!

Picture quality: Satisfactory
Number of pictures: Very good
Description: Insufficient
Contents: Good
Structure: Good
Judgement: A good book. Worth reading!

Covertext

Stick Figfiting for Combat is essentially the same as any other aspect of hand-to-hand combat. Perfect the basics of attack and counterattack, while focusing the mind upon strategy and reaction. Once thought no longer becomes necessary, then unified reaction will be attained, a conditioned reflex. And with this being your final goal, constant perfection of reaction, you will develop the ability to defend yourself in critical situations.

This book was not written in the context of being the answer to self-defense or stick fighting, but as a basis for your awareness and knowledge, and so that with these basics you may search deep within, diseover new variations which conform to your psychological/physical abilities and limitations, and strive to perfect these techniques which are special to you, and with which you feel comfortable. Remember, this book is merely the basies of stick fighting, and by no means is it the answer or the final word. Develop your techniques and train relentlessly.

I have chosen to dwell upon other forms of stick fighting and not upon the long staff or Bo staff.

This book is intended for use of all unconventional weapons personnel, police officers and people concerned with commonsense self-defense.
