Tape 15 Hapkido Forms The Hapkido forms can be divided into two classes: empty hand forms and weapons forms As the name suggests, empty hand forms are performed without any weapons while weapons forms incorporate a single weapon. This tape contains the first set of Hapkido forms. To properly learn and practice these forms, one must also learn and practice the related techniques. Without proper mastery of the related techniques, including self-defense (ho shin sul) and kicking, one cannot develop a full understanding of the meaning and movement of the forms. Tape 15 contains five empty hand forms: chun ki, ji ki, nae ki, wae ki, and ki hap. These forms are different from those of the other martial arts that often duplicate similar movements between forms. Each of the Hapkido forms requires learning a different set of techniques unique to each form. They also require both soft and strong movements. These are the characteristics that set Hapkido forms apart from other martial arts. The tape is 90 minutes long and includes both front and side views as well as techniques performed in slow motion.
